Globo.com
Globo.com is the internet division of Globo Group. They own the largest commercial TV network in Latin America, and are the second-largest network in the world behind America’s ABC. This was my first job as a UX Designer, working with Globo from 2008 to 2013.

UX Designer | Brazil | 2008/2013
Working at Globo allowed me to work on projects and products in-house, with the pace and length of projects differing greatly from my experiences in agency and consulting. Globo taught me a lot about Design, Agile and product management.
Note: everything you see here was designed at least 10 years ago. The internet has changed a lot since then… Don’t take it too seriously ;)
Some examples of my work at Globo
The Voice
2013
The Voice Brasil is the Brazilian edition of the American reality television singing competition.

News Portal
2012
The News project aimed to cover the entire country. The idea was having the national portal, as well as the main cities (like Rio, São Paulo, etc.) curated by editors, and smaller cities would have pages automatically populated and organized, using using web semantic and ontology. And we have approximately 6000 cities in Brazil.
The challenge from a design standpoint is to develop a single page template that would work for all editing scenarios, for all affiliates, knowing that some produce more than 50 daily news articles while other smaller affiliates produce less than 10.
The method
We travelled around the country to interview reporters and journalists, to understand better their daily activity and how this new product would fit into their routine publishing content.
We also had the chance to interview some users (news readers) and test some symbols and labels with paper prototyping before defining them. Finally, we did an usability test in the final interface before publishing.
co-workers: Andre Nicodemus and Luciano Pouzada.

Entertainment
2011
This portal groups all the entertainment products of Globo Organizations: all TV shows, from all entertainment related channels, but also radio stations and entertainment magazines, like Vogue Brazil. You can find more about this project on my Behance.
There was also a re-platforming situation. We were leaving Vignette, to a new in-house built CMS. Replatforming comes with lots of challenges, but I’ll save you from the details.
co-workers: Daniel Rabuga and Marcela Abbade.
Globo Accounts
2010
Globo Accounts (Conta Globo) is a single-sign-on system so users can have access to different products related to sports, news, TV shows, etc. Globo wanted to increase user participation in digital discussions. To do so, we built widgets (like forums, comments platform, etc), that could be visually customized to each products look and feel, aiming to bring discussions on Facebook and Twitter, to happen at the our products websites.
User could also chat with special guest users (such as artists, sports commentators, journalists, athletes, etc.).
The impact:
Four months after go-live, the number of brand mentions in social media was multiplied by 100 (over 2,5 million posts per month).
This initiative attracted at least 1.8 million visitors per year, raking Globo as the 105th most accessed site in the world.
Over 72 globo products into a single account.
On this project I was co-responsible for information architecture, designing flows, wireframes and prototypes, CMA and CDA, also collaborating with project documentation and validation.
co-workers: Marianne Abreu and Paulo Coimbra.
